Austin Barrett gets off the bus and you can’t miss him. The kid is a force, standing at 6’5″ and 220 LB. He is very projectable, before he even steps on the bump. The hard throwing righty, is still on the board and we love his game! Kid has a sound delivery with good arm speed and clean actions. Balanced delivery, good rhythm, normal stride, and lands soundly. He has good extension and follow through. The Fastball gets up to 89 MPH and has heavy arm side run. Throws for strikes, and when he misses he stays around the strike zone. Not afraid to go inside on a RHB. We feel he is advanced with the Changeup and Curveball. Changeup is going to be a problem for hitters! That pitch has good arm side run and plus depth. Throws it for strikes. The Curveball is inconsistent but he has a good feel for the pitch. He can throw it for strikes, but needs to refine the pitch. The CH and CB are projectable and the FB velo will obviously climb as he gets old and fils out. He has confidence in ALL of his pitches. This kid won’t be on the board too much longer.
